Surreal.
My artificial plants died because I didn't pretend to water them.
Surrealism in art is defined as: hallucinatory, having the quality of a dream, unreal or fantastic.
In humour it is based more on absurd situations in which normal reasoning or events produce results that are obviously illogical. Most surreal jokes tend to be one-liners.
Rather than try to define it's better to have some examples.

Do you ever get half-way through eating a horse and think, 'I'm not as hungry as I thought?'
('I could eat a horse' is a way of saying you are very hungry).
